2015: Founding & Early Focus
789 Coatings was established in 2015 with a clear mission: to develop durable, eco-friendly coatings tailored to the unique needs of industrial clients. Our initial team of 12 experts—including chemists and application engineers—focused on formulating epoxy and anti-corrosion solutions for local manufacturing facilities. By year-end, we launched our first flagship product: a high-adhesion industrial epoxy, quickly gaining recognition for its performance in heavy machinery workshops.
2017: Expansion into Specialty Markets
Buoyed by early success, we expanded our product line to include specialty coatings for marine and infrastructure projects. This year marked our first major project: supplying anti-corrosion coatings for a coastal bridge renovation, demonstrating our ability to withstand harsh saltwater environments. We also invested in a state-of-the-art R&D lab, doubling our technical team to accelerate innovation in low-VOC formulations.
2019: Global Footprint Begins
2019 was a pivotal year as we entered international markets, starting with Southeast Asia. We established a regional office in Vietnam to support growing demand for steel structure coatings, completing our first overseas project: a 50,000㎡ industrial facility in Ho Chi Minh City. This year also saw us achieve ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications, solidifying our commitment to quality and sustainability.
2021: Diversification & Large-Scale Projects
Expanding our portfolio, we introduced sports surface coatings (for tracks and stadiums) and high-performance floor systems, earning partnerships with major clients like BYD and airport authorities. A standout achievement was supplying coatings for Tianhe Airport’s 100,000㎡ parking lot—a project that showcased our ability to deliver large-scale, durable solutions under tight deadlines. Our team grew to 150+ professionals, with dedicated global project managers overseeing cross-border operations.
2023: Innovation & Global Recognition
This year, we launched our next-gen “EcoShield” line—low-VOC, self-healing coatings that set new benchmarks for environmental performance. We also expanded into the Middle East and South America, with projects including a marathon track in Brazil and a logistics hub in Dubai. Our R&D team, now 60+ strong, secured 10 new patents, reinforcing our position as an innovation leader. By 2023, we were serving clients in 50+ countries, with annual production exceeding 50,000 tons.
